On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina in Charlotte

Decided to give it a try on my birthday. Great Food, the jalapeno poppers were crisp and not soggy like most places. I ordered a bordurrito and the portion was massive, everything was cooked to perfection and I left immensely satisfied. My new favorite spot for Latin food.

The food was grossly under cooked, we sent it back to be remade only to be overcooked. The customers behind us had a similar terrible experience and refused to eat. The manager came out, apologized and comped their meals. I thought it was just an off day for the staffs, however as a consequence, my brother and I ended up with food poisoning from the meal.

great experience having dinner here last night. It was obviously very busy and our waiter still did an amazing job making sure we were very well taken care of. The Mexican food served at this restaurant might be the best Mexican food I've had in Charlotte yet

Definitely not my favorite Mexican restaurant as it's unoriginal, loud, and service has become sporadic over the years but they put out a decent meal and most of my family really enjoys it as a center-of-town location. There are many better Mexican restaurants to visit but please don't let my average score deter you from coming.

My whole experience was amazing. The hostess was friendly with a smile on her face. Had Robin as our server, and she is AMAZING to say the least. She had a full section, and gave us perfect service as with all of her other tables. Drinks came out fast, and never went empty. My Big Borderito was cooked to perfection. Robin had great service the entire way through our dining experience. Making sure that we had everything. I recommend On The Border to everyone. Robin is the BEST SERVER i have ever had at any restaurant.

This location used to be so wonderful. It has drastically gone down hill, very fast. The last time I came, was with a group of friends and one got served a rock in their chimichanga. The manager came to the table and thought we were lying, just to watch me pull a long hair out of my dinner while standing there. The last few times aside from that visit, have just been plain bad. Horrible service, 1-2 wait staff who didn’t acknowledge us or our empty glasses after walking by 3+ times when the restaurant was DEAD. I sadly believe all of their customers have made their way over to Chuys, which I don’t blame a bit.

Lunch was fantastic. The watermelon margarita is super on point. Food was served promptly and great environment.

Hostile staff members insult the intelligence of their patrons. Chips are pretty good. Would not recommend.

The food and service was excellent. Nice ambiance in the restaurant and easy access from the highway.

Good prompt service. They followed all the CDC guidelines to slow the spread of COVID 19. Required masks to all patrons. Seating was every other seat.

This place is great for kids --tasty food, friendly, smiley people. Plus it's next door, so we really can't go wrong.

Very good authentic mexican food and friendly staff

Went there tonight with a friend. I ordered chicken tortilla soup as my appetizer and got it with my entree. The soup was cold like it’s been sitting there awhile and no I didn’t bother to tell the waitress cause it seemed like she didn’t even care to be there to begin with. My friends fajita was room temperature no sizzle like it’s been sitting there. Highly disappointed!

The food was tasty, and fresh, as it usually is there. I really like OTB, as underated a concept as any I've ever visited.

Great food...good friendly staff. Didn't have to wait extra long , though we did come after the main supper crowd had been through.

This location has gone downhill. Our server had a personality of paint drying on the drywall. He walked by us 5-7 times and not acknowledged us. He avoided coming in our direction the whole entire time. we had to ask what appeared to be a manager for refills on our chips ndand drinks and was greeted by attitude. We were there for 1 1/2 hrs and we're given Luke warm food. If you want a case have severe food poisoning come here they will graciously give you what you want. There are so many places you can go in this area. avoid this location.

The food was delicious and Matthew (Matt) was especially attentive! Service was fast and friendly. Try the nightly specials, salads, and dessert! I will be back, and you won't be disappointed.

The best customer service, patience, and attentiveness I have had at a restaurant in a long time. The food was delicious, the restaurant was spotless, and everyone seemed to be working as a team. I LOVED THE BEYOND MEAT OPTIONS!!!!! This is our new location anytime we want to go to OTB. We can't wait for our next visit!

One of the best values for money we have enjoyed at a restaurant in years. Had the “2 for $20” deal a few times. ( appetizer, meal shared desert for two people) filling and well prepared. Had another special ( similar ) and equally enjoyable. Both times out before tip at $30. Had very good service 3 of our last four trips. Tipped 25% those times. ( once was average-tipped 18% that time). Would certainly recommend for a reasonable priced meal out. Easy parking and no wait.

The food was good, our service was great. Very helpful with my wife's gluten allergies. Wish there was one in Tampa.

I preordered my meal the day prior on 5/4 for 5:30 pm pick up. I was expecting a slight delay because of the day. When I arrived at the restaurant it was total mayhem. People were leaving frustrated without their orders, someone came out of the restaurant to advise that they were behind by an hour and a half. No one knew how long it was actually going to take to get your meal and the restaurant did not bother to keep their customers updated. Unfortunately I left around 7:15 disappointed with no dinner and tried to salvage the rest of the day at Taco Bell....

We arrived about 6:30pm on a Wednesday. They was starting to get busy.Our server Olivia did a wonderful job. She asked if everything tasted alright and kept us with beverages.Our food came out hot and yummy!We had the chicken fajitas, they came with the rice and beans. Very delicious. Food was hot, and didn't take very long to be served. We always enjoy the chips and salsa while waiting for our food.For dessert we had the sopapillas with the freshly made strawberry sauce. Delicious!Friendly staff, speedy service, hot food. Can't go wrong with eating at On the Border Mexican Grill &Cantina on Providence Rd.

My friend and I just went out to eat here for some bro time and had the nicest waitress. her name was April and I really liked her a lot. great vegetarian and vegan options. the guac is pricey but worth it.

Last time I went here it was in the mid 2000s and the food was meh, borderline blah. I just went back a few weeks ago and everything has improved 10,000%! The food is so tasty. The service (yes, you can eat inside) was great. If I'm in the area I would definitely go back!

Our server wad wonderful. I wish I could remember his name (night shift). Amazing service!!! He even let us know the truly vegan options.

We went on sat night I was disappointed in a few areas. First they were short staffed and they weren't sitting anyone in a big part of the dining area. Second the floor was dirty where we sat with crumbs everywhere. My waitress was great and she was working hard but this restaurant has gone downhill, and I tell it like it is.

When we went for lunch they weren't busy at all and the service was terrible. I paid$15 for fajitas and it was more like a $7 prortion. People all around us were complaining about the service. Won't go back unless we sit at the bar

The drinks are good and the food is too but the menu has changed some if you have been in a year or so. Also, I always seem to have a small error with my orders.

This place was not the best my friends paid for their food and the waitress said that they did not pay (She lost their money) Also she gave me $ back but it was a dollar short. I do not recommend eating here. She also took tips from other people's cards without their permission.

Food is good. Prices are reasonable. It always seems that the service is awfully slow.
